Table Maintenance Generator
Today, we will discuss what is table maintenance generator?What is the use of it?
As all of you know, we can create database tables in SAP using transaction code SE11. A table can be manipulated by a program or manually.
When creating table, you will find a check box 'Table maintenance allowed'. If we check that option, we can manually enter entries using SE16 or table maintenance generator screen.
SE16 is for data browser.
How to create table maintenance generator?
Go to Se11, give the table name and click on change. Then Go to utilities--> Table maintenance generator.
In the table maintenance generator screen, we should give Authorization Group, Function Group name (Function Group name can be same as table name), Maintenance type can be one step or two step, usually we will create with one step. we should give maintenance screen number.
After clicking on create button, a table maintenance generator will be created.
To check it go to SM30 . In SM30, we find display, Maintain options.
We can view the table contents by choosing Display and we can create table entries by choosing Maintain.

what is the difference between one step and two step?
in that screen, what we have to provide for authorization group and for screen no.
instead of this topic we can directly change the entries and display the entries through
utilities->create entries,and display.
i really can't understand the use of this topic,please explain

We can create table maintenance generator with authorization and with out authorization.Do you know that we can create custom t-code for a table maintenance generator? For example you have created table maintenance genetrator for table zexample, you will go to SM30 and give the table name to open table maintenance screen. Instead of that you can attach this to a transaction code say for example 'zexa'. In my next post you will find answers for all of your questions. I am really happy to see your comment.

Please read the authorization concepts explained in this portal. You can restrict the access to tables using authorization objects.

I am sorry to say that i could not understand your question.
Table maintenance tool enables to create a screen that can be used to
edit/insert/delete/change the table contents.
To create the table we should use se11. and we can create any table
within the customer name space. I.e the table name should start with Y
or Z.
